On April 21, 2019 students from the University of Southern California launched the Traveler IV rocket from Spaceport America in New Mexico. The vehicle flew successfully, landing under a parachute nearby several minutes later. This launch was the culmination of years of work to design and build a rocket at a university. Every effort was lead by students, making this already remarkable achievement even more impressive.
While we are still waiting to see the final altitude achieved by Traveler IV, we are inspired by the work of USC RPL and are continuing to push for our own space launch in the near future.
To the incredible Rocket Propulsion Laboratory students, from all of the MIT Rocket Team, we can’t wait to see what you do next, Flight On!
